Produced in collaboration with Easton + Combs Architects, Changing Room is a temporary installation at The Extension Gallery, in Chicago Illinois.
Composed of lightweight CNC-milled polycarbonate panels interlocked using a structural herringbone technique to form a circular veil suspended from the ceiling, Changing Room functions like a two-way mirror. From the exterior, the dichroic finish reflects it's surrounding while simultaneously changing hues depending on lighting and viewing angles. From the interior the visitor's view through the veil is punctuated by the layered striation of the polycarbonate. Maximum visual effect is achieved through two parallel experiences.
Working with Lonn Combs, ISOFORM (Edwin Liu) was responsible for the concept design and design development of Changing Room.
